Recently, I was honored to attend a memorial for Norman Kolb.
Norman was one of the first Engineers I was privileged to work with “back in the day.” He was the father of the Stratco Alkylation Seminar. The Alky Seminar was his idea and he and I worked tirelessly to organize and host the event in Houston at the Four Seasons Hotel. We thought we would be lucky if 25 people would pay to attend. In fact, 114 signed up!! Though our small group looked like the Beverly Hillbillies arriving at a fancy resort, that was the beginning of the turnaround for STRATCO’s Alkylation Technology. Norman, we miss you and appreciate all you did in the world of engineering!
